My name is Mr. Miller. I am in my tenth year teaching here at WCHS and my fiteenth year overall. I have taught at 3 different schools. My first year of teaching I taught at LeRoy Jr. Sr. High School in LeRoy, IL. I also coached Jr. High wrestling while I was there. The next 4 years I taught at District 50 School John L. Hensey in Washington. While at Hensey, I also coached wrestling here at WCHS. My first six years here I taught Physical Education here at WCHS. This is my fourth year teaching Driver's Education and I am in my second year as the Head Coach for the wrestling program. I spent ten years prior as an assistant coach here.
I am also a WCHS alumni. I graduated from here in 1996. Out of high school I was unsure of what I wanted to do with my life, so I went into the work force for 3 years before returning to college. My approach in college was that of a journeyman changing majors on two different occasions. I finally found what I was looking for while taking a Education class at ICC with my wife (just dating at the time). I transferred to Lincoln College for a year to attempt college wrestling and continue my college education. From there I transferred to Illinois State University where I received my Bachelors of Education in 2004. I obtained my Masters Degree in School Leadership through Concordia University in May of 2015. I live here in Washington with my wife and 3 kids. My wife is an employee of District 50 schools, and my kids are 12, 8, and 5 years old. |
